WindSong is set on a verdant hilltop in northeastern Connecticut and boasts multiple and magical locations spread over its five acres.

Property Locations

  • Narnia

Pass through the wrought iron gates as you enter into Narnia, one of the quietest locations on the western edge of WindSong. Bounded on all sides by woodland forests, it is a flat, 400 foot- long sanctuary that offers guests a serene and undisturbed location. Plantings include a variety of native and ornamental trees, such as dogwoods, lilacs and Rose of Sharon that bloom across the seasons. A large fire-pit--perfect for rustic fare--is nestled into an ancient stone wall that marks one of Narnia’s boundaries.

  • Beech-Tree Overlook

One of the most inspiring locations on WindSong features an enormous beech tree that is more than a century old. Located along the eastern edge of the estate, it offers clients an unparalleled view of Massachusetts and Rhode Island, tapestries of autumn foliage in the fall, endlessly rolling and verdant hills in spring and summer, and billowy blankets of snow-covered hills in the winter months. The melodious and serene sounds of bubbling water echo from a small stream of water that ripples down the face of a gigantic, glacial rock nearby. Additionally, windchimes--revealing the whispering winds rising from the valley below--provide a background symphony. This location invites clients to have meaningful and intimate conversations made ever more memorable by the infinite views of the horizons, natural sounds, and ongoing cycles of the seasons.

  • The Gardens

WindSong’s acreage includes sixteen manicured gardens that are maintained by a team of Master gardeners. Designed to complement the historic features of the rolling acreage, the thousands of plantings include selected perennials that form the structure of each garden, as well as annuals to heighten the colors in each season. Guests will find the gardens beckoning. Their rambling and colorful nature will invite contemplative and leisurely strolls by individuals, as well as hand-holding couples and family members.

  • The Secret Garden

As summer settles in, WindSong is home to a Secret Garden that is tucked away on a knoll that overlooks the acreage. It boasts a variety of roses that cover an archway into a small, secret garden and lion’s head fountain. Late spring finds the secret garden laced with enormous numbers of pink and cream petals, all with delicate fragrances. The peonies, equally impressive, mirror the roses with pastel petals of peach and coral. All the plantings feature the muted hues of romance. This small, botanical sanctuary promises to be an unforgettable experience for all who enter.

  • The Pond

The vernal pond on WindSong is Mother Nature at her very best. In the spring, it overflows her banks and is filled with the sounds of spring. In summer, it hosts turtles of all kinds, frogs, and nesting boxes of Wood Ducks. The gently sloping landscape down to the pond, flanked by ancient stone walls, and century-old maple trees, is a perfect summer site for a bridal processions from the residence to an eagerly-awaiting gathered group of family members and dearest friends.

  • The Greenhouse

Located on the north side of WindSong is a 30 x 40 greenhouse. It is used by the team of Master Gardeners to raise plants for the gardens, and it is also a local artist’s retreat. Designed with gardening in mind, it features high ceilings, natural stone walls, a brick floor and three sides and a roof with continuous windows that allow light to stream in from sunrise to sunset. It boasts plentiful room for intimate brunches and luncheons or teas with delectable fare for loved ones. For a small number of guests, it also invites a formal dinner with heirloom china, crystal, and utensils.
